Abstract
Anaphylaxis is commonly seen in hospitals. These severe IgE-mediated type I hypersensitivity reactions are rarely a result of exposure to domesticated animal allergens. Horse allergens, Equ 1-5, can lead to human sensitivity but clinical presentations have been recorded largely as rhinitis or bronchospasms. Cases of anaphylaxis secondary to horse allergens are unusual and infrequently reported.
