Abstract
Allopurinol-related drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms, also known as drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DRESS/DiHS), may portend significant morbidity and mortality. Presence of HLA-B*58:01 and renal insufficiency are risk factors for allopurinol-induced DRESS/DiHS. Severe cases may require prolonged immunosuppressive therapy.
