Abstract
The Carpentier-Edwards Perimount Magna Ease bioprosthetic aortic valve (Edwards Lifesciences, Irvine, CA) is a low profile version of the earlier Perimount valve that uses the ThermaFix process to enhance calcium removal with a view to improve durability of the prosthesis. The Magna ease valve has been in use for the past 10 years with but its long term durability has not been verified. We sought to assess the durability of this valve.
