Abstract

Nordea Bank in Finland has begun a pilot to test and verify how electronic commerce can be conducted in real life using mobile phones. The bank is working in association with mobile phone manufacturer Nokia and Visa International to create a dual chip concept. This will allow customers to make purchases through their mobile phones and pay using a Nordea issued plug-in size smart card, which resides on a special smart card reader inside the phone.
