Abstract

Milan Kujundžić Aberdar is a well-known person in Serbian science. However, his political activity has not been sufficiently researched. This paper tends to present his political activity in the period until 1880. The emphasis here is on his work within the United Serb Youth (1866‒1871), as well as on the political steps which he undertook during the 1870s. One of the aims of this paper is to show how Kujundžić, who had been perceived as a member of the Serbian liberal youth, became one of the ideologues of the Serbian Progressive Party, whose subsequent leaders were Milan Piroćanac, Milutin Garašаnin, and Stojan Novaković. This paper is based on the unpublished material of domestic provenance, and the relevant scientific literature.
