Abstract

The knowledge of the phase conditions and equilibria of surfactant systems is an important prerequisite for the development of efficient surfactant containing consumer product goods, e.g. of sedimentation-stable liquid laundry detergents. The quaternary system water/sodium n-dodecyl sulphate/sodium n-octanoate/triethanolamine which can serve as a model for formulations of liquid detergents was investigated by polarization microscopy at 298 K. The goal was the identification of isotropic and anisotropic state areas, respectively
