Abstract

Bleomycin, a group of polypeptide antibiotics containing sulfur derived from Streptomyces verticillus ,1 has been used intralesionally to treat plantar warts, as well as cutaneous neoplasms such as squamous cell carcinoma, cystic hygroma, and keratoacanthomas.2-4 The most frequently noted complications include fever, cellulitis, vomiting, skin discoloration, a local cytotoxic reaction, and Raynaud’s phenomenon.2,3,5 We describe a patient who experienced bacterial lymphangitis after intralesional bleomycin injection of multiple plantar warts.
