Abstract

Lymphangiomas are uncommon benign congenital malformations of the lymphatic system which usually present as neck masses in early childhood [2,4]. It is unclear whether these lesions represent congenital developmental malformations, hamartomas, vascular defects or neoplasms [31. Laryngeal lymphangiomas have only rarely been reported. Laryngeal involvement usually presents in later infancy or childhood, and is almost always associated with the presence of a neck mass or tongue lesions which cause macroglossia [8,14]. The following case report describes a neonate with laryngeal lymphangioma who presented with congenital inspiratory stridor without an obvious neck mass or dysphagia.
