Abstract

A 22-year-old woman had enteric protein loss and malabsorption, including steatorrhea. Colonic lymphangiectasia was found at laparotomy. Surgical removal of the most severely involved part of the colon resulted in temporary clinical and biochemical improvement. Stool fat and enteric protein loss decreased when a modified medium chain triglyceride formula was given, but the patient tolerated the diet poorly.
