Abstract

Traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation is a rare lesion whose incidence is not know, and which is associated to a high rate of mortality. The authors report the diagnosis, treatment, and two-year follow-up of a 25 year-old patient who had had an automobile accident with imaging-confirmed traumatic atlanto-occipital dislocation.
