Abstract
A multicomponent reaction involving Lu halide hydrate with modified schiff base and coligand were carried in presence of base. The ligand and coligand chosen were primarily targeted to cause structural changes in the end product obtained by varying the steric electronic factors of the ligands. A variety of structural forms ranging from dimeric to tetrameric based clusters have been isolated. All structures are elucidated by single crystal X-ray diffraction studies.
