Abstract
Abstract This paper presents the most important theoretical features of Luria's neuropsychological approach. A series of current neuropsychological approaches related or in interaction with the comprehensive model of Luria are quoted and reviewed. Links between current cognitive neuropsychology and Luria's neuropsychology are stressed. Finally ‘neolurianism’ is defined as the further development and sophistication of Luria's approach maintaining his basic ideas on the functional model of the brain (complex functional systems and functional units) and his clinical approach.
