Abstract
SummaryThe concentrations of plasminogen activator, trypsin inhibitor, and tissue thromboplastin in lungs of different breeds of cattle have been determined. Brahman cattle (Bos indicus) has a higher average concentration of plasminogen activator than breeds of normal cattle (Bos taurus). There are large individual variations in concentrations of trypsin inhibitor. It is suggested that these variations could explain differences in susceptibility to high mountain disease.
