Abstract

AT present only a small number of radio sources have been satisfactorily identified with photographic objects. The important task of establishing further identifications faces a serious difficulty because of the uncertainty in the measured positions of the radio sources. This uncertainty usually amounts to several minutes of arc, and it is only for a few intense sources that the error has been reduced to less than one minute of arc.
