Abstract

Contemporary optical circuit switch (OCS) scheduling techniques are still struggling to balance the tradeoff between scheduling efficiency and computational run time. To diminish this gap, we introduce Lumos —a fast and efficient OCS scheduling technique. Lumos negotiates the tradeoff between the cost of prolonging the current configuration and the time penalty of circuit reconfigurations. An extensive evaluation shows that Lumos matches the state of the art in scheduling efficiency while running orders of magnitude faster.
