Abstract

The beam-beam interaction is a strong nonlinear force and ultimately limits the luminosity performance of a colliding beam accelerator. The beam dynamics resulting from the beam-beam force has many aspects and is still under active investigation. Ultimately, the useful product of a collider, the integrated luminosity, depends strongly on the characteristics of the beam-beam interactions.
