Abstract

At the decameter band near 30 percent of sources have steep radio spectra. Physical parameters of the steep spectrum sources have been examined at the base of corresponding sample from the UTR‐2 catalogue at the frequency 25 MHz. In the framework of the LCDM model of the Universe the sample galaxies and quasars with steep radio spectra have high radio luminosity and very extent radio structure. By that the linear sizes of sample objects correlate with their characteristic age. The ratio of monochromatic luminosities of steep spectrum sources versus their redshift indicates on the cosmological evolution of luminosity. We derived and analysed the luminosity function of sample galaxies and quasars with steep spectra at the decameter band. Space density of steep spectrum sample sources corresponds to the one‐hundredth of the space density of sources with all radio spectrum types. Also we obtained evidences for the inhomogenity of space distribution of sources with steep radio spectra.
