Abstract

The strongly chelated luminescent LnIII-based optical probes: [Ln(dipicOH)3]3- [Ln = EuIII (1), TbIII (2)], decorated with multiple reactive peripheral hydroxyl groups were strategically designed for the selective detection of diethyl chlorophosphate (DCP), a simulant of sarin (GB) nerve agent. Their reaction results in the modulation of antenna effect and/or ligand-exchange reactions as reflected in the quenching of the 5DJ-7FJ transitions of respective LnIII probes.
