Abstract

Three novel coordination polymers, formulated as {[M(Htcpb)(4,4′-bpy)·(DMF)·(Dioxane)0.5·(H2O)2]}n (M=Co (1), Cd (2)), {[Zn2(Htcpb)(Hbim)](DMF)3·(Dioxane)2·(H2O)3}n (3) (H3tcpb=1,3,5-tris(4-carbonylphenyloxy) benzene, 4,4′-bpy=4,4-bipyridine and Hbim=benzimidazole), have been synthesized. Their structures have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis, elemental analysis (EA), IR spectra (IR), powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Complexes 1 and 2 are isomorphic and feature 2-fold interpenetrating 2D sheets, which are further expanded into a 3D supramolecular structure through hydrogen bonds. Complex 3 shows a 2-fold interpenetrating 3D (4,6)-c net with the point symbol of (43·612)·(43·63)2. Furthermore, the magnetic property of 1, as well as the luminescence sensing of complexes 2 and 3 for small organic molecules, nitrobenzene derivatives (NDVs) and metal ions have been investigated.
