Abstract

We prepared CaLa4Si3O13:xTb3+ phosphors by sol-gel method and analyzed their structural features by X-ray diffraction technique. Upon excitation at vacuum ultraviolet (147 nm, 172 nm) and UV (233 nm), the prepared phosphor showed green emission. The color-correlated temperature (CCT) of the phosphor indicated cool greenish light. Therefore, this luminescent powder has potential applications in the green emitting phosphor converted white light-emitting diodes (LEDs), optical display systems and plasma display panel (PDP) applications.
