Abstract

An ultrastable CP of {[Cd2(DDB)(Hbimb)]·3H2O}n (1) (H5DDB = 3,5-di(2',4'-dicarboxylphenyl)benozoic acid, bimb = ortho-bis(imidazole-1-ylmethyl)benzene) was designed and characterized. The unique 3D 4,8-c flu framework of CP 1 was established by the tetranuclear {Cd4(COO)8} SBUs and organic linkers with abundant π-electrons, which endows itself remarkable chemical stability and outstanding redox performances. Depending on internal filter effect and photo-induced electron transfer, CP 1 possesses excellent luminescence sensing towards nitrofuran antibiotics in aqueous with high sensitive and selectivity, splendid recyclable behaviors, as well as low detection limits. Benefiting from the teteranuclear cluster based framework, 1@NF shows a 232 mV overpotential during hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), with the Tafel slope being 13.93 mV·dec−1 and a satisfactory 12 h stability. Structure-activity relationships illustrated the hybrid materials of CPs have great potentials as chemosensors and eletctrocatalysts.
