Abstract
Compounds MSbOSiO 4 (M=Na,K) show an intense greenish luminescence at 4.2 K under short wavelength ultraviolet excitation. Thermal quenching is complete at 300 K. This emission is another example of luminescence of d 10 ions in oxides. The germanate analogues and members of solid solutions between these antimony compounds and KTiOP(As)O 4 also show luminescence. This emission can be interpreted by applying models proposed before.
