Abstract
The human body is a dynamic system subjected to impact. It is represented by 15 spring?mass?damper model. Both linear and non-linear analysis of the model has been carried out. A square wave impact of various magnitude (t = 0.1 s) has been applied at the human shoes to study the response of lumbar spine. The variation of response due to alteration of shoes stiffness and damping has also been investigated.
