Abstract

Luc's abscess, a rare complication of otitis media, involves a subperiosteal collection beneath the temporalis muscle. This particular otitic abscess is not typically associated with mastoid infection and follows a rather benign course. As a result of its benign course, more conservative treatment may be attempted. However, with possible mastoid involvement, mastoidectomy may be required in addition to abscess drainage.
