Abstract

According to the features of imaging spectrometer a two dimension compression has been converted into a series of one dimension processing. A real-time "two-true-value linear prediction method" which has the ability of on-board compressing the raw data in the spectrum direction has been developed. This method can preserve absorption band information during compression/decompression process. The results show that for most spectra at least 2:1 compression ratio can be obtained under 1% reconstruction accuracy; on an average the raw data rate can be reduced 3-4 times. The arts of coding compressed data, and the reconstruction error have also been described.
