Abstract
More than 30 years have already passed since the first commercial nuclear power plant in Japan was put in operation. Presently, about 50 commercial nuclear power plants (NPPs) are operating and in the future NPP will be ceased the operation and the plant will be decommissioned. NUPEC has been developing the decommissioning technology undertaking the safe, secure, and rational decommissioning for NPPs since 1982. NUPEC has focused its development effort on techniques for decontamination before dismantling, reactor facility dismantling, measurement of residual radioactivity in buildings, waste decontamination, recycling.© (2000) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
