Abstract

A new time-integrating acousto-optic correlator (TIAOC) was developed. It combines relatively low complexness with an exceedingly wide band of signals analyzed. The main feature of the architecture is the use of the light beams interference to provide the quadrature processing channel. A near-optimum stochastic signal detection algorithm using a new TIAOC is proposed. Power losses in comparison with the optimum algorithm are less than 1 dB. The possibility of the delay evaluation and the spectrum estimation is shown.© (1994) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
