Abstract

The AGFA Diagnostic Center and the Fuji Computed Radiography digital imaging machines differ in image processing software and as a result image appearance differs. The fundamental methods of image processing of digital musculoskeletal radiographs are described in a companion poster with demonstrations of the effects of the setting of each factor on the final image appearance. In this poster, we will demonstrate the differences between the systems through a discussion of interesting cases with optimized images. The two digital systems are competitive with each having advantages and disadvantages compared to the other. When compared to conventional screen film systems, our group considers the digital images that can be obtained on both machines to be superior to conventional images.© (1994) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
