Abstract

The Radioactive Waste Management Complex, located within the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL), contains facilities and equipment to manage and characterize transuranic radioactive waste generated primarily at the Department of Energy Rocky Flats Laboratory and currently stored at the INEEL. The facility, referred to as the Stored Waste Examination Pilot Plant, provides space for the systems that characterize and certify the various waste forms for shipping and disposal at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant in New Mexico.
