Abstract

Capillipedium mistryi, a new species has been described from Bori Wildlife Sanctuary of Hoshangabad district, Madhya Pradesh, central India. It shares the close morphological affinities with C. spicigerum, which is distributed from China to Australia. The IUCN conservation status, ecology, distribution and phenology along with its morphological affinities have been discussed. A key for the identification of Capillipedium species is provided.
