Abstract

Using bibliographic review, mainly of studies sponsored by the International Labour Organization, it is seek the relationship between labour law and recent studies that elevate Social Rights upon Fundamental Rights. This article shows that the institution by the International Labour Organization, from a “Declaration about Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work” is merely a reflection of this process. With this Declaration was possible the development of a new theme in Labour Law called “Decent Work” that has as its focal point in the improvement of the conditions of the worker and the extension of the scope of Social Rights. Adoption, by Brazil, of a decent work schedule made possible the election of priorities to be attended. Looking from a extended panorama, the result is the adoption of public policies aimed at the promotion of the whole society, enabling a proper access to opportunities.
