Abstract

Propene was polymerized at 0 o C with t BuNSiMe 2 C 5 Me 4 TiMe 2 /MAO. Kinetic features and other parameters indicated quasi-living polymerization. Effects of various trialkylaluminiums as additives have been investigated; it was found that compounds with more bulky groups like i Bu 3 Al, Oct 3 Al increased the activities significantly whereas Me 3 Al and Et 3 Al reduced the activities of the catalyst system. The triad sequence in the 13 C NMR spectrum confirmed a syndiotactic-enriched atactic polypropene.
