Abstract

Summary The Barbers Hill salt dome contains 124 solution-mined, liquified-petroleum-gas (LPG) storage wells with a capacity of 200 × 106 bbl. A geomechanics evaluation of the facility is described that includes mechanical testing of salt and caprock core, structural evaluation of the storage and brine disposal wells, and development of a subsidence evaluation network.
