Abstract

The Hamiltonian of a biexciton in a two-dimension quantum dot with parabolic confinement has been diagonalized to obtain the low-lying eigenenergy values as a function of the electron-to-hole effective mass ratio and the dot size. We find that a biexciton in a quantum dot may have more than one bound states. This fact may help a better understanding of their binding mechanism.
