Abstract

The nonlinear viscoelastic/viscoplastic response of an amorphous glassy polymer, in terms of compression-tension cyclic loading and compressive creep is simulated by a model analytically presented in previous works. The experimental data were available from the literature, and can be distinguished to those of low and high strain regime. The constitutive equation employed, has been derived on the basis of transient network and an appropriate kinematic formulation. It was proved that the model can adequately capture the special features of hysteresis loops and the strong Bauschinger effect exhibited by the material examined.
