Abstract

This paper describes and explains vision-based pick and place robot using a web camera and ABB IRB 140 industrial robot. The robot which comes directly from the company does not have the intelligence to detect the color. This project uses color sorting algorithm developed in Matlab 2013 using image processing and computer vision toolbox. The input image color is detected by the use of a web camera. The algorithm provides the smart solution to the controller to do specific tasks to the robot followed by DSQC IO card and relay module. The proposed design gives real-time color detection using image processing and provides pick and place approach for object sorting. The experimental result shows provide 100% result for green and blue object detection for object pick and place.
