Abstract
To improve the performance of the orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems in fast time-varying wireless channels, a semidefinite relaxation (SDR) detector is presented and a low-complexity algorithm combining SDR with interference cancellation (SDRIC) is proposed. A second-order polynomial interpolation channel estimator is also designed to provide the channel state information required by the detector. Simulation results indicate that both SDR and SDRIC detection schemes substantially improve the performance of OFDM system compared with the traditional parallel interference cancellation (PIC) equalizer. Complexity analysis shows that the SDRIC detector has significant complexity advantage over SDR detector and provides a good tradeoff between complexity and performance.
