Abstract

We propose and verify a carrier phase estimation algorithm for M-ary quadrature amplitude modulation (M-QAM) based on blind phase search (BPS). By replacing the complicated squared distance calculations with a simplified measurement in the real plane, the inherent computation complexity (CC) is reduced without performance degradation.
