Abstract
Licensure for driving requires 140° of horizontal visual field in many states including Texas. Consequently, patients with hemianopic field loss (HFL, < 90°) are precluded from driving regardless of visual acuity and compensatory scanning skills. This report describes two patients with homonymous hemianopia who developed compensatory scanning skills using different approaches and were both successful in obtaining a driver's license in Texas.
