Abstract
A new method for the reduction of N-substituted phthalimides to the corresponding hydroxy lactams and the coupling of hydroxy lactams is described. We performed the reactions, which induced by low-valent titanium reagent in the aromatic solvent and in the absence of solvent for the first time.
