Abstract

In this article, 1-(4-fluorobenzoyl)-3-(4-ferrocenyl-3-methylphenyl)selenourea (P-1) has been synthesized and characterized (FTIR, multinuclear NMR, CHNS and AAS) and used as a single source precursor for the fabrication of iron selenide (FeSe) by simple thermolysis at 200 °C in a vacuum furnace. By using UV–visible spectroscopy, the synthesized tetragonal FeSe has been used to degrade methyl orange (MO) and methyl violet (MV) under direct sunlight.
