Abstract

Low temperature resonant Raman spectra of AgGaSe2 have been investigated in the wide range of excitation photon energy, 1.74 eV-1.93 eV. In the absorption range (≥1.80 eV), a strong outgoing resonance effect mediated by free exciton has been observed, whereas a week incoming resonance enhanced by donor-acceptor pair emission has appeared in the transmission range (≤1.77 eV). Selection rules in the usual Raman tensor were almost broken down and, over the whole excitation energy range, the dipole optical selection rule between the uppermost “A” balance band and the conduction band seemed to dominate.
