Abstract

The low temperature resistance and specific heat measurements on Y1-xCexNi2B2C are reported. The resistance measurements demonstrate that with the increase of Ce concentration x from 0 to 0.4, the superconducting transition temperature decreases from 15.2K to 0. The T-C(x) behavior was found to be well fitted by Abrikosov-Gorkov expression. This indicates that the pair-breaking mechanism may be responsible for the depress of superconductivity. The superconducting transition is also found from the specific heat data for x=0.3 sample, and the Sommerfeld coefficient gamma(0) is obtained to be 20mJ/mol.K-2, more than 4 times larger than that of CeNi2B2C.
