Abstract

Low-temperature nuclear orientation was applied to study hyperfine interactions of 142Pr, 147Nd and 160Tb nuclei in antiferromagnetic Pr 0.7Nd 0.3NiAl 4 and Pr 0.6Nd 0.3Tb 0.1NiAl 4 single crystals. The γ-ray anisotropy reveals the magnetic anisotropies of each rare earth ion, individually. External field effects on the 147Nd γ-ray anisotropy exhibit an unexpected result associated with the metamagnetic phase transition.
