Abstract

Starting from the relativistic mean field approach of Walecka which describes known properties of cold nuclear matter, finite temperature corrections and their low temperature expansions are calculated for the equation of state, the baryon effective mass, the bulk modulus and the symmetry energy coefficient. Simple analytical formulas are obtained and discussed as well as possible extensions of the model.
