Abstract

DTA studies were carried out for a number of systems currently used in this laboratory as matrices stabilizing primary γ-radiolysis products. Temperatures of the first and second-order phase transitions were determined and compared with the available literature data. Some hydrocarbon and alcohol matrices were examined by DTA after γ-irradiation. The additional heat effects observed were ascribed to the reactions of trapped intermediates. DTA results were compared with those of RTL and ESR.
