Abstract

Low-temperature gas cyaniding of high-speed steels in ammonia filtered through glowing coal can be controlled by varying the input of ammonia at a low temperature of the coal in the dissociation chamber (up to 650–680°C). The durability of cyanided tools of high-speed steels is increased 2–3 times by such treatment [1].
