Abstract
Aim: Background: It is known that in countries affected by financial problems, serious effects on health outcomes have been recorded while despite the sharp declines in cardiovascular disease (CVD) mortality that occurred during the past decades, the most striking improvements in cardiovascular health, have benefited wealthier, high-educated individuals, whereas progress among groups with lower socioeconomic status (SES) has lagged. Aims: to explore the effect of SES on 10-year CVD incidence, in the years of financial crisis.
