Abstract

1. A study was made of the temperature dependence of electrical resistivity and CTE of the carbides NbC and Cr3C2 and TaC-WC alloys at temperatures ranging from ambient to 1000°C and also of the oxidation resistance of these compounds. 2. It is shown that, by using the complex tantalum-tungsten carbide Ta0.4W0.6C as the current-carrying phase, it is possible to produce fixed volume type resistors having lower nominal resistance, lower values of TCER, and higher moisture pickup resistance.
