Abstract
An Energy efficiency technique is a important subject for Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), that have received extensive attention to reduce energy consumption and improve network lifetime. Most of the power in sensor networks is consumed by data transmission and reception. This power can be reduced by using suitable data compression technique which reduces transmitted data over wireless channels. In this article, the design of an energy efficient coder is proposed. When this algorithm is applied to recursive systematic convolutional (RSC) code, it reduces both computation complexity and decode error probability. Applying this RSC code to wireless sensor network ensures correct data reception and reduced energy consumption. To validate and evaluate our work, simulation is done in Xilinx software and Power is calculated using Xilinx xpower tool. The simulation result shows that the proposed algorithm performs better than existing one
